Access the platform

You access the platform using the email associated with your account. No password is required: Creatora sends a PIN by email to verify the identity of the person signing in. Students and administrators authenticate in the same way. Creatora may ask you to sign in from the platform or during an action that requires identity verification, such as a purchase. After sign-in, the role associated with the account determines whether you can also access the Admin Panel.

Sign in with email and PIN

From the platform, select Log in or Register.

1. Enter the email associated with your account and select Sign in.
2. Creatora sends a four-digit PIN to that address.
3. Enter the PIN on the Confirm PIN page to sign in.

If the email does not match an existing account, Creatora tells you and you can select Sign up on the same page to create a new account. If you are an administrator, after signing in you can select Go to admin panel to enter the management area. Registering a new account does not grant access to the Admin Panel: to enter as an administrator, you must use the account with that role. Signing in to an account does not automatically grant access to a course. Authentication identifies the person, while the access assigned to their account determines which courses they can take.

Sign in or register during a purchase

You can start a purchase without signing in first. At checkout, Creatora asks for your email address before continuing:

• if the email already belongs to an account on the platform, Creatora asks for the PIN to verify your identity before continuing with the purchase;
• if the email does not yet belong to an account, a new account is created with that email address so the purchase can continue.

Authentication or registration therefore happens within checkout, without requiring you to go through the Log in or Register page first.

Change the account email

The email associated with the account is used to sign in and receive platform communications. On desktop, select your profile picture and open Account settings > My account. In the email section:

1. select Edit;
2. enter the new email address and select Continue;
3. Creatora sends a four-digit PIN to the email currently associated with the account;
4. enter the PIN to authorize the change.

After the change, you will need to use the new email address to sign in. To complete the change yourself, you therefore need access to the current email address. If you no longer have access to it, the platform administrator can change the address from your student record in the Admin Panel. Account settings are not available on smartphones.

Change a student’s details from the Admin Panel

As an administrator, you can edit a student’s details directly. Go to Students, open the student, and use Edit profile to change their first and last name or Edit email to replace the address associated with the account. After the change, the student must use the new email to sign in. Connected integrations are updated with the new address.

Sign out of the account

On desktop, select your profile picture, open Account settings, and select Log out. On a smartphone, open the platform menu and select Log out. If you are in the Admin Panel, Log out takes you back to the platform: it does not end your account session. To log out, use Log out from the platform.

If you do not receive the PIN

Check that the address you entered is the one associated with your account, and check your spam folder. To request a new code, select Try logging in again and enter your email again. When you request a new PIN, previously received PINs are no longer valid. The PIN remains valid for one hour. Each PIN can be used only once.

Help a student with the PIN

If you are an administrator, you can check student sign-in requests from Overview > Activity. Find the student’s Login event. Until the PIN has been used, you can view it and give it to the student to help them sign in. When the PIN is used successfully, the code is no longer shown in the Login event and it is marked Used.

If the PIN does not work

Make sure you are using the PIN from the latest request. If you requested more than one code, earlier ones are no longer valid. Creatora shows the number of failed attempts. After 10 failed attempts, access to the account is blocked. Requesting a new PIN does not reset the number of failed attempts.

If the account is blocked

When a student’s account is blocked, the platform administrator receives an email notification. The account can only be reactivated by the Creatora team. Contact Creatora and provide the platform and the email associated with the blocked account. If your administrator account is blocked, contact Creatora directly to request reactivation.

If you cannot access the Admin Panel

If you can sign in to the platform but do not see Go to admin panel, check that you used the email associated with your administrator account. If the problem continues, contact Creatora at hello@creatora.io.

If you can sign in but cannot find a course

Account access and course access are separate. If you can sign in to the platform but a course does not appear among those available, check the student’s access by following Manage students and access.

Manage authentication through the API

Creatora’s passwordless authentication system is also available through the API. You can integrate registration and the passwordless sign-in flow into your systems, from requesting the PIN to verifying the code. After successful authentication, the API returns the information required to make requests to Creatora with the identity and permissions of the authenticated account. This lets you build, for example, a custom interface or integration while keeping Creatora as the authentication system. API authentication does not change the access model: the account role determines administrative permissions, while course access depends on the access assigned to the student.
