# Manage students and access

> Find students, check or change course access, and manage account deletion.

A student can gain access to a course in different ways: through a purchase, a manual order, a manual assignment, or the API.

For this reason, when you want to check what a student can access, start from their account. If you want to check a sale or payment instead, go to [Manage orders and payments](/en/students-and-orders/manage-orders-and-payments).

## Find a student

In the **Admin Panel**, open **Students** and search for the student by name or email.

If you cannot find them, check the period selected in the filters: the list may show only accounts created in the current month.

<Tip>
  You can quickly search for a student from anywhere in the Admin Panel using **⌘K** on Mac or **Ctrl+K** on Windows.
</Tip>

## Check the courses the student can access

In the student record, **Courses in library** shows the courses they can access, any [associated levels](/en/courses-and-learning/use-course-levels), and their progress in each course.

**Product history** shows the orders and manual assignments currently present for the student. It can therefore help you understand where access came from, but it is not a complete history of every change made over time.

If a student cannot find a course, first check whether it appears under **Courses in library**.

To verify a purchase, you can also start from **Sales > Orders**, find the order, and open the associated student with **See student**. To check the order status, amount, and contents, see [Manage orders and payments](/en/students-and-orders/manage-orders-and-payments).

## Give access without an order

To give access to a course without recording a sale, you can do so directly from the student record.

Under **Courses in library**, select **Edit**, enable access to the course and, where applicable, choose the level to assign. Then select **Save changes**.

A manual assignment gives access to the course but does not create an order.

If you completed a sale by bank transfer or another external channel and want to record it in Creatora, use a **manual order**. See [Manage orders and payments](/en/students-and-orders/manage-orders-and-payments).

If you manage access from an external system, you can also use the **Creatora API**. For available operations and implementation details, see the [Creatora API Reference](https://www.help.creatora.io/en/api).

## Remove access

In the student record, select **Edit** under **Courses in library** and disable the course or change the assigned level. Then select **Save changes**.

Before removing a course, check **Product history** for orders or manual assignments related to that course. Removing it can revoke access even if the course was obtained through a purchase or another assignment.

If you remove access to a course, its associated levels are also removed.

Access can also be removed through the API when it is managed by an external system.

## Delete an account

<Warning>
  **Delete account** permanently deletes the student's account and their access to the platform.
</Warning>

Before confirming, make sure you opened the correct account and choose what to do with associated orders:

* **Keep orders** keeps the orders recorded in Creatora.
* **Delete orders** also deletes the orders associated with the account from Creatora.

Deletion applies to data managed by Creatora. If the contact also exists in an external email service connected to the platform, the related data is not necessarily deleted: check it separately under [Integrations](/en/platform/integrations).

This procedure does not apply to administrator accounts.
