# Community

> Configure the Community, manage posts, and choose whether to send the automatic newsletter.

The **Community** is a shared area of the platform where you can publish resources and text posts, discuss them, and vote on them. There is one Community for the entire platform, and it is not tied to access to a specific course.

When the Community is active, anyone can read its content, even without registering or having access to a course. Registration on the platform is required to publish, comment, vote, or save a post.

You can use it, for example, to share articles, videos, and other useful materials, or to collect questions and let votes surface the ones people are most interested in.

## Configure the Community

Go to **Products > Community > Manage community**.

Under **General**, you can customize and reorder the Community rules shown to people who take part in discussions.

You can also choose whether the Community is **Enabled** or **Disabled**. If you deactivate it, posts are not deleted: they remain hidden until you reactivate it. As an administrator, you can still access them from the platform while the Community is inactive.

When you activate the Community, the **Community** link appears in the platform navigation bar. If you do not want to show it, you can hide it from **Platform > Navigation bar** without deactivating the Community.

## Publish and manage contributions

You can create two types of posts in the Community:

* **Share link**, to share a resource such as an article, video, or tool and optionally add brief context;
* **Text post**, to publish a question, idea, update, or other content directly.

Registered users can vote on posts, comment, reply, and save them for later.

When someone comments on one of your posts, you receive a notification on the platform.

Authors can edit or delete their own posts and comments. As an administrator, you can edit or delete any Community post or comment.

You can also select **Pin** on a post to show it before recent posts.

## Community newsletter

The **Newsletter** helps keep Community participation active without requiring you to prepare a periodic summary manually. Every month, Creatora automatically collects the most-voted posts and sends them to students, bringing their attention back to the content that generated the most interest.

Go to **Products > Community > Newsletter** to enable or disable automatic sending and view its history.

Sending starts on the first day of each month at 9:00, based on the [platform time zone](/en/prepare-the-platform/customize-the-platform#language-and-time). The newsletter contains up to 10 of the previous month's most-voted posts and is sent only if at least 3 posts were published that month.

Receiving the newsletter is enabled by default. Each student can disable it under **Account settings > Notifications > Community newsletter**.

The platform must have existed for at least 30 days before sends begin.

## Use the Community through the API

You can also read and manage the Community through the [Creatora API](https://www.help.creatora.io/en/api), for example to build integrations or automations around posts and discussions.
